2: Because the songs and the exercises are not the same
It seems silly, but sometimes it is not obvious.
The usefulness of the exercises is that it allows you to isolate vocal problems so that you can work individually on each of them.
That is the best way to identify and correct them.
But the songs don’t give you truce.
The problems that songs bring to light are reminiscent of a field of mushrooms: they begin to appear everywhere, even under the stones.
You can make all the notes of that song that you like so much and that is so difficult.
But the problem comes when you start singing it.
Suddenly it seems that you cannot make those notes, you force again, you lack power and you are already fighting to reach the notes.
What happens is that you need to know how to practice a song in the same way that you have learned how to train your voice with the exercises.
First, why things: Why can’t I sing the song if I can make all of my notes with the exercises?
For two simple reasons.
# 1: You still can’t do the exercises well enough
It is hard to hear this and it can be frustrating.
You know you have advanced vocally.
You may have made great progress .
But you have to sincerely ask yourself:
Have I advanced enough to face this song?
Can I do the exercises in a way that is even easier for me?
Am I really attacking all the weaknesses of my voice or do I just do the exercises that are easier for me?
