It’s that time of the year again where we ramp up our ghostly desires and indulge ourselves in the macabre realm of horror movies. I checked out dozens of channels and came up with my Top 5 List of free Roku Channels for Grown-Ups this Halloween Season.
- FRIGHTPIX
Modern and classic horror movies are abound on Frightpix. Legendary classics include Suspiria, The Last House on the Left, Beyond Re-Animator, The Stepford Wives, Demons, Phenomenon, Black Sunday and many more. More modern fare include titles like the Japanese shocker Battle Royale, Cabin Fever 2, and The Last Exorcism.
- THE ROKU CHANNEL
Surprisingly The Roku Channel offers a very nice collection of quality genre movies. They have 40 movies in their “Halloween Horror” category featuring big hit movies like Child’s Play, The Blair Witch Project, The Evil Dead (1981) and Paranormal Activity 2 & 3 and more.
- TERROR TV
Not for the faint of heart. Cutting edge indie films from the library of Acort International including Dead of the Nite starring Tony Todd (Candyman), American Backwoods Slew Hampshire with genre favorite Kane Hodder and Axe to Grind with indie scream queen Debbie Rochon. Terror TV adds 2 new movies every week.
- YESTERFEAR
If you’re into movies from yesteryear then you’ll love YesterFear. You can binge on vintage TV shows One Step Beyond and Tales of Tomorrow. Their Drive-In movies collection includes Deep Red, Drive-In Massacre and Don’t Look in the Basement. Vintage classics include must see movies Night of the Living Dead, Horror Hotel and House on Haunted Hill. They even go further back in time with plenty of Karloff and Lugosi movies like The Terror and White Zombie.

From classics like Child’s Play to campy movies like Jack Frost 2, Filmrise Horror offers a variety of independent moderate and low budget films. They also a feature UFO and paranormal documentaries like the classic Chariots of the Gods.
